A PERSONAL GUIDE TO YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

As we all walk along in our spiritual journey, God desires, first, that we move from simply attending church to seeking and finding a sense of true BELONGING to Christ by putting our faith in him and in the church by committing ourselves to its community. Second, God desires that we begin PURSUING knowledge of the Word and understanding our new life and identity in Christ. Third, God desires us to become one who is PRACTICING regular spiritual habits, healthy relationships, and wise decision making. Fourth, God desires that we grow in maturity enough to become one who is ministry-minded, CONTRIBUTING to God’s mission in the world and the ministry of the Church.

These destinations are both sequential and cyclical. Those who are new to faith in Jesus start at BELONGING and walk through each destination sequentially along the journey. However, after exploring each destination we all return back to each of the previous destinations to explore spiritual themes more in depth and as reminders. We never claim to have "arrived" at the pinnacle of spirituality or to have completed our spiritual journey. Rather, we continue to cycle back through the destinations to deepen our faith and understanding of how we live as followers of Jesus in the world while journeying alongside others in their formation.

About Us
First Covenant Church is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), which is a rapidly growing multi-ethnic denomination in the United States and Canada, with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God's grace, and an ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through faith with Jesus Christ. We value the importance of extending God's love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.
