Raising $150,000 in honor of our 150th Anniversary!
First Covenant Church in Red Wing is among our denomination's oldest congregations. Having been organized in 1874, we are now approaching our 150th Anniversary in 2024. We’re very excited for that celebration!
For many decades, we met in a building in the downtown area. Then, our congregation purchased 3 acres of land on the south side of town and built our existing sanctuary in 1978. This facility was a huge improvement over the old building, but it was recognized early on in our time at this location that we were short of space for classrooms, fellowship opportunities, and youth ministry needs
In 2006, our congregation doubled the usable space of our facility by adding new offices and adult classrooms, an enlarged lobby area, a spacious Family Life Center, with attached youth meeting areas, and new bathrooms. A mortgage was taken out at that time for $1.2 million.

God has blessed us in so many ways throughout these 150 years as we have loved and served our community in the name of Christ.
And now, continuing his work in and through our church, God inspired a financial donor to bless us with a gift of $100,000. Adding to that gift, our goal is to raise another $150,000 over and above current to pay off the mortgage AND invest in other much needed special projects related to our building. These pledges can be either paid upfront or paid monthly or any other frequency through May 2024.
We completed the first stage of the 150 x 150 Campaign in July 2023, when burned the mortgage of our new addition. Praise God and thank you for your generosity! We're now in the second stage of our campaign to finish meeting our goal of $150,000 to invest in several much need projects and improvements related to our building.
