Starting March 22nd Dave Fredrickson will begin a new Discovery Hour class entitled "The Forgotten God." There is a big gap between what we read in Scripture about the Holy Spirit and how most believers and churches operate today. Join the discussion about the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives and church.
Women’s Discovery Hour - It's all in how you look at it. Rebecca Beaulieu will be starting a series called When Changing Nothing Changes Everything by Laurie Polich Short. In this 8-session series, Laurie Polich Short reveals how even if we can’t change our circumstances, we can still make a change in our life by the way we see it.
Life groups has one purpose: to help people connect to one another! We believe that God has created us to be in close relationships with others so that we can grow in our faith, be encouraged during trials we face, and to serve others together. So dive into deeper relationships with God and one another through one of our Life’s Groups! Check out some of the life groups below and find a group that fits your schedule or even location! Most life groups continue the conversation from Sunday's sermon by utilizing discussion questions provided by Sunday's preacher.
Bechtold's Life Group (1st and 3rd Mondays from 5-7pm). We start off this family-oriented life group by bringing everyone together for a potluck, and then we will open our bibles up to revisit the scriptures from Sunday’s sermon and discuss them at greater length. Families of all ages (whether you have a newborn, teenager, or empty-nester) are welcome at this life group. Meets at Mike & Anna Bechtold’s house (near downtown). Zenzen's Life Group (Thursdays at 6:30pm). We revisit the scriptures from Sunday’s sermon and discuss them at greater length. Meets at Tom & Melissa Zenzen’s house (near Walmart). This group is full.
Maybach's Life Group (Thursdays at 9:30am). A life group for our older generations. We are currently studying the book of Daniel through a David Jeremiah study guide. We value connecting to one another to build community with one another, focus on God’s word, and pray together. There are a number of ways to get connected and grow deeper in faith in these small groups.
Man Camp (Sundays at 9:45am). Man Camp is an opportunity to develop deeper community with other men through small group studies, periodic morning breakfasts, and service projects. Regular gatherings will begin starting in October during Discovery Hour (9:45-10:45) on Sunday mornings with monthly projects to be announced. Lydia Circle (Monthly at 6:30pm). Monthly on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. Lydia Circle is a women’s study that meets monthly on a Tuesday evening September through May starting at 6:30pm. Contact Gail Devery for more info at email@example.com.
IF:Gathering (Monthly events).IF:Gathering exists to equip women with gospel-centered resources, events, and community so they may learn more about who God is and disciple other women right where they are. This monthly event offers the space and conversation starting resources to let women love one another and flourish together as they create a setting to be honest and wrestle through deep questions and celebrate the joy of community. MOPS (2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 9-11am). MOPS is a place for all moms with kids birth to school age. It's a place for friendship, authentic community, support, and growth - because better moms make a better world. At MOPS you can expect a warm meal, mom conversation, guest speakers, crafts, connection to faith, and socials/play dates. This gathering includes childcare/kid's program. Parent Connection (Bi-monthly at Caribou Coffee, 6:45pm). Parents of teenagers are invited to come and connect with other parents! Come share about the highs and lows of parenting, receive encouragement and prayer from one another, and discuss ideas how to navigate situations you are facing. There are a few bible studies that meet regularly to dig deep into God's word together.
Adult Confirmation (Monthly classes). Adult Confirmation is a new opportunity at First Covenant Church for adults of all ages (must be at least 16 years old or older) to participate in a 8-month confirmation journey by exploring God’s word and the building blocks of our faith. Participants who complete this confirmation journey will also have the opportunity to be publicly affirm your faith before our congregation. Men's Bible Study (Tuesdays at 9:30am). Starting September 10, we’ll be studying the gospel of Luke. All men are welcome. Led by Dave Gustoafson at First Covenant Church. Grab a bible and come on over!
Women's Bible Study (Tuesdays at 9:30am). Starting September 17th, we will be starting “Overcomer” by Dr. David Jeremiah. This study is based on Ephesians 6: The Armor of God. Join a great group of women as we build relationships and learn to overcome life's everyday challenges with the power of God. Women's Bible Study (Wednesdays at 9:30am). A manuscript study currently in the book of Genesis, and will continue on to other books of the bible. A manuscript study is a guided study through the books asking three basic questions: what does it say, what does it mean, and how do we see God’s word in our lives for today.
